The program produces a set with seven parameters of the sapatial Helmert transformation valid for an specific area, with which then arbitrary coordinates of the area can be transformed from one reference system into another with high accuracy. The seven transformation parameters are computed with a set of individual identical points. Those are points with known coordinates in both reference systems. For the computation at least three identical points must be present. In practice you will be anxious to use more identical points than those three necessities. The program supports upto 10.000 identical points. Cartesian coordinates or geographical coordinates with ellipsoidal height using the ellipsoid dimensions are suitable. Identical measuring points of higher order can be usually inquired or referred by the official institutions for measurement. The necessary ellipsoid half-axis are available in the program for the selection from lists. There are altogether to determine seven parameters, i.e. three translations, three rotations and a scale constant. The parameters are calculated by the compensation according to the method of the smallest squares (L2 norm, Helmert transformation). Therefore must be dissolved a formula system with seven equations and seven unknown quantities. The coordinates of the identical points are tested intensively on outliers and deviations by different statistic procedures. The quality of the computed seven parameters of the Helmert transformation is documented by a residual matrix and by the computation of the middle, maximum and root mean square (RMS) deviations. The seven parameters are presented in the three most usual standards. Those are the Coordinate Frame Rotation, the Position Vector Transformation and the European Standard ISO 19111.

The German Coordinate and Reference Systems of the old and new Federal Countries including the 40 Prussian Soldner Land Registers and Soldner Berlin and Munic. 2. The current and many historical Coordinate and Reference Systems of all States of the European Union (EU) including the eastern extensions and other European Systems. 3. The US- and Canadian State Plane Coordinate Systems (SPCS) on NAD27 and NAD83 and other Coordinate and Reference Systems of the North American Continent. 4. The Coordinate and Reference Systems of the Australian Continent. 5. A lot of Coordinate and Reference Systems of other Continents. 6. All world-wide used Coordinate and Reference Systems. You find a complete list of the coordinate and reference systems supported by the program in the internet or after downloading of the programs free test version. The NTv2 standard with national grid files is supported. Apart from the given world-wide and state-specific systems also your own coordinate systems and geodetic reference systems can be defined with Helmert (Bursa / Wolf, ISO19111) or Molodenski parameters. Calculations can be performed with coordinates entered directly, loaded from files in various formats (Text, dBase, ArcShape and ArcGenerate) or passed through batch processing. ArcShape files can be viewed with the program intern Shape Viewer. A programmable GPS interface makes possible to read coordinates from a low cost GPS antenna into a notebook. The program can be run on network, where clients are installed automaticly. The program has user-selectable German or English language interface and comes with extensive bi-language online help.

AvisMap GIS Engine is a comprehensive SDK for the development of custom GIS applications and solutions. This SDK provides several ActiveX (OCX) controls which support Visual Basic, VB.NET, C#, Visual C++ and other ActiveX compatible programming languages, with Microsoft Visual Studio versions 6, 2003, 2005, and Express. Supports .NET via COM. While the SDK is excellent for desktop GIS application development, it is also appropriate for the development of enterprise level, multi-user user GIS solutions using SQL database map layers.
