You should install the Workstation on the computer to which the USB device is physically connected. Server side should be installed on the remote server from which you need to access your devices. Printfil allows character-based programs printing to any Windows printer, including USB, network printers, faxmodems and PDF writers, even if it is a Dos/Windows application or a Unix/Linux program running on a Windows PC via telnet, without changes to the original applications.

You can set your application to print to an ascii file, or you can have Printfil capturing a parallel port output, automatically redirecting your print jobs to any printer, even to a printer which is physically connected to the captured port.

- print A4 landscape sheets in place of printing on dot-matrix 136-column printers

- use specialist windows fonts (barcodes, for instance) as well as normal characters
- export print jobs in PDF format, with or without user intervention, even with encryption and password protection
- send print jobs via e-mail by using your own e-mail client program, with or without user intervention
- use a single, customizable set of escape sequences for ALL printers, regardless of make, model and emulation provided (if any, as for GDI printers)
- print complex jobs to legacy printers in RAW mode (graphs, drawings)
- archive a copy of all the captured jobs
- use multiple printers simultaneously

All this without changes to your applications

If you are developing host based applications (like Unix) to run on a Windows Terminal Emulator, you can stop battling with transparent-print characters and different settings for different printers. All you need is a shared file system (NFS, SCO-VisionFS, Samba and others) to store output for your print jobs and PRINTFIL.

Serial Port Redirector is used to connect a serial application to a remote TCP socket. This allows you to utilize modern hardware COM servers without changing your software or exchange data between a TCP/IP application and an old-fashioned program that can only connect to a serial port.Serial Port Redirector creates a two-way bridge between a serial application and a specific TCP port at a specified IP address. This is done by creating virtual COM ports. When a serial application connects to one of these COM ports, a connection is established to a specified host and all the data from the COM port gets redirected via the Internet or a Local Area Network. The program receives data from network and redirects them to virtual COM port. It works transparently for serial apps. They use virtual COM ports as if they were connected directly to your hardware devices. With Serial Port Redirector, you can easily control remote hardware COM servers via a TCP/IP network from your serial application designed to work with locally connected devices only.
